Avoiding Swine Flu

A health concern has hit countries around the world has shown no signs of slowing down.  As more and more people contract the disease, concerns of it spreading and affecting more people remains to be a priority of many governments and institutions around the world.

Swine flu, as the name denotes, used to affect only livestock, pigs, primarily.  Just as many living things in this world, they evolve and mutate to become  resilient to disease and assure their survival.  The first animal-to-human transfer was reported in Mexico, and since the disease broke out, containing and controlling the disease has been a problem.

Just like any form of flu infection, it is a communicable disease.  Sneezing, holding objects that a sick person has held are some of the ways that the sickness can spread.  Avoiding crowded places as much as possible is also one way to avoid contracting the disease.  You should also avoid touching your face or your mouth and nose to prevent inhaling the virus just in case you touch surfaces or objects that are virus-laden.  Frequent hand-washing is also one of the best ways to avoid contracting not just swine flu but any communicable disease.
