Main Causes and Types of Acne Problems
Acne problems vary according to people, hormone fluctuations, stress, nutrition and age while some don’t suffer from acne at all. While there is no definitive cause for acne problems, there are identifiable triggers. In adult women, acne can be triggered by increased hormone levels of pregnancy, birth control pills and menstrual cycle.
For others, the triggers could include diet, high fat, chocolate or even junk food. Even men suffer from acne when their hormonal levels surge during their teen years. Acne has several different forms and symptoms. You can see whiteheads or pustules when the oil is just near the skin surface. But if the oil is stuck deep in the skin, it produces cystic acne.
People also see blackheads on their skin. This is caused when the oil breaks through the skin and gets oxidized by the air. Acne problems can cause severe emotional and psychological distress to the sufferer. Thankfully, severe cases are rare and most of them can be successfully treated with over the counter medications, reduced stress, improved hygiene and solid diet.
